The White Stork is a bird well known to the general public (isn't it the one that brings babies?). It is a bird that does not go unnoticed, is easy to recognize, is not very fearful and is part of human history in many regions, for example in Alsace where the storks' beak-clacking is part of the soundscape of many villages.

In fact, adults in the nest usually greet each other by loudly clicking their beaks.
The stork can now be observed all year round, whereas previously it was strictly migratory and therefore absent from our region in winter.

For reproduction, the stork needs to have nearby large trees that can support the nest - its nesting is in fact arboreal at the origin - or human constructions (bell towers, chimneys, pylon, etc.). Today, it readily adopts artificial areas built for its use in and around built-up areas.
