The Atlantic Puffin has an average lifespan of 25 years . The rounded shape and the color of its beak, half dark, half red-orange, make it a bird like no other. Its uniqueness is such that it has become the symbol of the French League for the Protection of Birds .

Brittany is the only region in mainland France where this animal resides. The colonies are grouped together in the Sept-Îles nature reserve, a network of small islands close to the Breton coast.
